People also ask, "Do I really need the services of a guide?" There is a good reason why the Entities at the Casa de Dom Inacio have requested that people come with a guide. It makes it easier for the Casa volunteers, as well as for you, using your time in Abadiania productively and getting the most out of the experience, not preoccupied with trying to get all the relevant information, so you won’t miss anything. It is more important to focus on the important reasons for your being in Abadiania, with a relaxed attitude, rather than getting bogged down with the mundane "how to’s, of what and when and where and why," so you will be in the correct line, present the right questions to the Entity, get your permissions and prescriptions, etc. etc., and thus optimize your healing/well-being process.

Having visited Abadiania numerous times, we will allow ourselves and those traveling with us to be guided by the simple, spiritual atmosphere around Medium João Texeira de Faria. We will arrange for our group members to stay in one of the best hotels ("pousadas") in town. In a quiet location, rooms are modern and in a pleasant view location. We offer various room categories to fit your budget. The differences are mainly room size and location, views, and amenities -- but rooms in all categories have private bathroom facilities. The very reasonable group rate includes buffet-style breakfast, lunch, and dinner. Food is excellent and meets the requirements of vegetarians, but offers plenty of variety of beef, poultry and seafood for those of us who prefer a diet rich in protein.

Group members will typically arrive on a Sunday, Monday, or Tuesday morning to have extra time to acclimatize themselves to the "Abadianian way of life," visit the grounds of the Casa de Dom Inacio and browse the few modest boutiques in town, and perhaps enjoy a coffee or our favorite Acai (an iced soft drink made of super-healthy and super-tasty fruit from the Amazon region) at one of the cafes in town, where you will eventually meet essentially every other foreign "Casa" visitor. That Tuesday evening, you are also invited to an informal introduction to the Casa de Dom Inacio, presented by one of the local English-speaking Casa guides/volunteers. Wednesday, Thursday, and Friday are then structured around the morning and afternoon sessions at the Casa, with visits to Medium Joao, meditations in the current room, crystal bed sessions, and related other healing oriented activities. We will guide you to help you maximize your experience.

The next 4 days (Sat - Tue) are free and are generally used to assimilate the healing experience, including a visit to the near-by Casa de Dom Inacio healing waterfall. On Monday or Tuesday, we may perhaps arrange for some of our group members an ad-hoc 3-hour excursion, but this would then be in the spur of the moment and depend on the circumstances and state of healing of our people. Then there will be another 3-day Casa experience (Wed - Fri of your second week).

The group members will typically depart for the return trip on Sunday after breakfast at their pousada. In order to facilitate the transition to "life out there," we may offer to arrange for a 3 to 4-hour tour in the unique capital of our host country, Brasilia, to visit, among other attractions, the architecturally extraordinary cathedral, the stunning "Blue Cathedral," and the famous "Temple of Goodwill," before group participants will depart in the late afternoon/evening for their home flights.

We invite you to join us on this journey of healing. You book your own flights, and we provide room and board and airport transportation to and from Abadiania (a 1 1/2- to 2-hour taxi or van ride). We will be available to assist you with your travel preparations and help you in Abadiania to maximize your experience.

This is what is included in what we provide:
Travel Arrangements: We advise you when you make your own air travel arrangements, taking you to Brasilia International Airport on a Sunday, Monday or on a Tuesday morning (assuming you will take one of the now available direct flights from Atlanta or Miami to Brasilia). Gundi and I will communicate pertinent travel information (such as how to obtain the required visa, which can be arranged by Internet and mail) to the participants. Air fares are typically anywhere between US$1000 and 1700, depending on season and routes selected.
Hotel Accommodations: We include your full room and board acommodations in the price category of your choice.
Brasilia Airport Transportation: We will arrange and include for you to be picked up at the Airport by a taxi or van, and to be taken back to the airport.
Casa Experience: We will help you maximize your healing experience by guiding you at the Casa de Dom Inacio, being available at meal times, and helping you wherever we can in the process.
Waterfall Experience: We prepare for and guide you on a visit to the sacred waterfall (taxi fare included).
Enriching Teaching Sessions: We will schedule ad-hoc various sessions on topics of interest to the group in Abadiania.
Donation to the Casa de Dom Inacio: All services at the Casa are free, except for purchase of crystal bed sessions and the Casa herbs you may want to buy. Instead, donations to the Casa are welcome. We found that people often do not have enough cash left at the end of their stay in Abadiania to make an appropriate donation, and it is all but impossible to make a donation once back home. Therefore, we include in our charges an appropriate donation to the Casa de Dom Inacio on your behalf.
Internet: Wireless Internet for your laptop and several Internet computers are available at the pousada for a modest fee.
Optional Excursion to Pirenopolis: We will arrange for an optional excursion to the picturesque neighboring town of Pirenopolis. Your pro-rated share of the the cost, if you choose to participate, is approximately US$50/person and will be collected in Abadiania.

  Costs
  Charges based on room and board for 13 nights are:
  Category A: US$ 1400
  Category B: US$ 1500
  Category C: US$ 1600
  Category D: US$ 1700
  Category E: US$ 1800

  While we do not recommend that more than one person occupy one room, we do offer this possibility, which is really only feasible for price Categories C, D, and E. The full room and board fee for the second person will then be US$900.
(The above rates are subject to adjustment if the currency exchange rate between dollars and reais (R$) deviates substantially deviates from R$ 1.85 per US$).  

  Extra Expenses
  You will need to bring some extra money for your purchases of crystals and other Casa memorabilia, crystal bed sessions, Passiflora herbs (approx. $40 per person -- for yourself and those of your friends and family members of whom you present pictures to the Entity and who get herb "prescriptions"), some purchases in boutiques, an excursion to Pirenopolis and sight seeing in Brasilia, buying blessed water at the Casa, and -- last but certainly not least -- your desserts and your Acai fruit drinks at "Cafe Sao Joao" or "Frutti's".
